Please see below for a review of the Landscape Design process from Carolyn, a 2020 participant:

In our first meeting in September, I shared with my design student a wish list I had for my garden. She was very professional, attentive, took thorough notes and asked important questions. We went into great detail about the needs and functional uses of my garden. I really appreciated her enthusiasm.  On her second visit she did a survey to physically assess the garden and measure its main features. The following meeting we had was a review of her Landscape Design Project to date. She showed me photographs on her computer of plants she had found, and discussed where they could fit into the layout. I was so pleased with her progress and very excited by her ideas. Our final meeting was her presentation of the finished project. She had a large scale drawing of my garden, with individual plants drawn in and numbered. The corresponding handout listed all the plants with details such as quantity, size, size to buy and notes. There were also two pages of additional notes regarding the garden in general and issues that had come up during our discussions. She used what she was learning from other classes at the PHC and applied it to this project with enthusiasm. I was thrilled with her work. Her care, attention to detail and effort show in the fabulous design she produced. I now have what I need to move forward and plant my dream garden.
