Doris Page Winter Garden

This woodland garden has a full range of light exposures from full sun to full shade.

It was created in 1985 to showcase the potential for winter gardening –unique in Canada and world class. Sponsored by the Victoria Horticultural Society(VHS)and named in honour of Doris Page, many of the original plants came from her Saanich garden including the first Hellebores, her special passion ,introduced by her to the Victoria area. Key elements for winter interest are: colored berries, colored bark and stems, branch structure and form, colored foliage and flowers and fragrance.
