GARDEN SCIENCE CAMP New!

Do you know a child who has caught the science bug? Do they love to learn about critters and plant parts up close and personal? Join us as we look under the microscope at the life cycles of plants, symbiotic relationships of critters and plants, as well as what lives in the pond and in the soil. Learn how these ecosystems are beneficial to people and the gardens all while being outside engaging with the environment. This camp is suited for an older age group, this will help them develop a science interest/ background, as well as a deeper level of understanding and appreciation of what is happening in the garden! All materials provided. Limit of 15 children.

TERRARIUM GARDEN FOR KIDS

Gardens come in all shapes and sizes. Get creative as you learn about the needs of little plants and what better place to grow them than in an upcycled glass container. Bring along a glass bowl, vase, jar or other container and see what you can create! (containers up to 20 cm in size). Children under 7 years must be accompanied by an adult. You provide the glass container and we provide the rest. Maximum 8.

FAIRY GARDEN WORKSHOP – CAMPING THEME

These gardens are fun to create and there are so many themes to explore. In this mini garden making session we will take an inspiring woodland wander then collect and use natural materials to give the fairies a camping trip to remember! HERBAL CREATIONS

We all know the name of a herb or two, but what can you do with them? Herbs can be used in many different ways! Together we will learn about these unique plants. FAIRY GARDEN DESIGN

These miniature gardens are fun to make! Fairy Gardens can be made from purchased or recycled household items. They help us to use our imaginations and support creative play.  This session will focus on the use of plants as a foundation. Participants will learn to sculpt pathways and gardens using drought tolerant plants, and natural materials to produce an easy to care for and pleasing result. This session is suited to older participants, and this will help develop their skills as a Fairy Garden designer. All materials are provided. Limit of 6 children.

INTRODUCTION TO FAIRY GARDENS

GROW YOUR OWN PIZZA GARDEN

More people are becoming interested in growing their own nutrient rich food. Join our garden group to create a take-away mini garden to nurture this summer. You will learn to plant transplants (baby plants), sow seeds, and water to grow your own food! Bring along your garden gloves for this hands-on growing experience. JMG KID’S GARDEN CLUB

This MONTHLY program takes participants through the growing season from seed starting through the various plant uses for food, self-care, art, and seasonal décor. There is always something to taste, observe, build and weed while gardening and we do it all together!! This program is a great way to provide extra outdoors time for those who love gardening and there are always seeds, plants and other created items to share for use in your home or gardens.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY CAMPS 2020

These Pro-D Day Camps are filled with garden activities both in and out of the garden. We use sustainable practices to grow our own food and flower crops throughout the year. The campers learn to prepare, plan, plant, harvest, and maintain a garden while including native pollinators and building awareness of the ecosystems that support our project. This hands-on camp is a good introduction for those wanting to grow their own food at home or further develop their skills for existing home and school gardens.

JMG SUMMER CAMPS 2020

Come grow with us! This dynamic program educates youth about horticulture, health, nutrition, environmental science, leadership and life skills using fun and creative activities. Flexibility is a key component of the JMG program that enables it to be adapted to meet the needs and interests of different individuals and organizations. It is perfectly suited to Afterschool Childcare Programs, 4-H, Home School groups, or any number of interest groups as a program enhancement.
