Spring Plant Sale

One of the biggest weekends of the Gardens at HCP year is upon us! Our Spring Plant Sale is the biggest annual fundraiser for the development and maintenance of the Gardens. Over 80% of the plants  for sale have been propagated in-house using plants from our grounds, as well as interesting varieties donated by our volunteers. It is a not-to-be-missed event for dedicated gardeners in Victoria. With only three staff who work in the Gardens, the funds raised support the over 100 volunteers who come on a weekly basis to give their time and energy, including a group who work in the Polyhouses helping with the propagation. For those shoppers this weekend who are just beginning their gardening adventures, there will be Master Gardeners on hand to answer questions!
One highlight is the Sanguisorba minor ‘Little Angel’ – beautiful variegated leafs that are attractive all year with lovely blooms in the summer. The Gaultheria x wisleyensis ‘Wisley Pearl’ is a favourite of our Head Gardener Linda’s- an evergreen shrub that will do well in part shade and is deer resistant. There will be a whole table of deer resistant plants. If you missed it click here for a copy of the plant list: HCP Spring Plant Sale 2016.
