School Age Camps

HCP Kids currently offers Pro-D Day, Spring Break and Summer Camps.

Camps run from 9 am to 4 pm.  The Spring and Summer Camps are week long and run for either 4 or 5 days (each week is dependent on the various holidays and garden closures)

During these camps, we busy ourselves with seasonal gardening activities in our very own in our own HCP Kids Teaching Garden! This involves active gardening where we grow food crops and allows for many hands-on learning experiences including planting, harvesting, weeding and other seasonal garden activities.

There is also an exploration of the many natural systems that keep our gardens growing, as well as gathering and using natural materials to create garden art and crafts.

Full Day – Junior Master Gardener Camps are always balanced according to the heat of the day, with the use of frequent hydration/shade breaks when needed during the mornings. Afternoons are spent on activities to increase our understanding of natural systems in natural spaces surrounding our base camp as well as crafts.

Half Day – Garden Arts Camps is spent gathering and using natural materials to create garden art as well as a variety of other mediums for 4 or 5 days in July and August.
