The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific is delighted to help so many couples say “I do” in the magic and tranquility of the Gardens. We offer a variety of beautiful spaces for your ceremony, photography and reception. Outside, our terraced Gathering Place offers a wheelchair accessible ceremony site with a sparkling view of Viaduct Flats behind the happy couple. Inside the Couvelier Pavilion, you’ll be charmed by the inviting post-and-beam architecture, natural sunlight and views into the Gardens. Double doors open out to a brick porch area where guests can enjoy cocktail hour in the sunshine and little ones can spot fish and frogs in the pond. Named the ‘Best Outdoor Venue’ of 2016 at the Vancouver Island Wedding Industry Awards, it’s easy to see why we book up so far in advance!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding cost at the Gardens at HCP?
The 2019 rental rate for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception is $3000. This rate includes the tax, tables and chairs, white tablecloths, indoor A/V equipment and admission to the Gardens for all guests. Discounts are available for offseason weddings (October-April), ceremony-only daytime bookings or reception-only evening bookings.

How many people can I invite?
The Couvelier Pavilion can accommodate a maximum of 110 guests for a seated reception (96 guests at round tables, plus your head table). If you are planning on offering a buffet inside the room, 80-90 guests may be more comfortable.

Do you offer catering?
No, we welcome your choice of catering and bar service and are happy to provide recommendations. There is ample space for setting up a BBQ outside. We are not licensed, so a Special Event Permit is required before any alcohol can be opened onsite:

What is the payment schedule?

50% of the rental fee is required to make your booking official. The balance is required one month prior to your wedding day, along with a credit card authorization form in case of damages.

How much time will my rental include?
The Pavilion will be available at 9:00am for decorating and we will set up the tables, chairs and tablecloths before your arrival. Closing time (lights on, music off, bar closed) is 10:00pm with guests offsite by 10:30pm and vendors offsite by 11:00pm. Same-day setup and cleanup is required unless alternate arrangements are made in writing with the Event Manager.

What about a ceremony rehearsal?
We will work with your wedding party and marriage commissioner to schedule two hours of rehearsal time during the week leading up to your wedding.
