Created as a cottage-style garden in memory of Barbara Ann Jardine (1923-1991), a long time volunteer at the HCP.

A typical cottage garden is densely planted, with plants weaving through each other and spilling over edges and pathways, creating an informal, although highly cultivated, look.

A mixture of old-fashioned flowering shrubs and herbaceous perennials, spring bulbs, self-seeding annuals, and biennials provide a variety of color throughout the growing season. Hardscape elements like the brick pathway, section of picket fence,  and a driftwood arbour have been added to recreate the look of a typical cottage garden.
