The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific is delighted to help so many couples say “I do” in the magic and tranquility of the Gardens. We offer a variety of refreshing, accessible spaces for you to celebrate your love and commitment. Your guests will arrive through an aisle of roses and pass beneath a fragrant eucalyptus tree to find their seats. As you say your vows, you may find yourselves accompanied by birdsong as the waters of our habitat conservation area sparkle in the background. Enjoy a stroll through our nine acres of gardens (with your photographer, of course!) before joining your loved ones to eat, drink and be married under the inviting red cedar beams of our Couvelier Pavilion.
We’re delighted to have been named winner of Best Outdoor Venue at the Vancouver Island Wedding Awards in 2016, finalist for ‘Best Ceremony Venue’ in 2017, and were named three times in 2018: winner for ‘‘Best Outdoor Ceremony Venue’ in 2018, finalist for ‘Best Unique Wedding Venue’, and winner for ‘Best Collaborative Styled Shoot’!
The 2019/2020 rental rate for an outdoor afternoon ceremony and indoor evening reception is $3000. This rate includes the tax, tables and chairs, white tablecloths, indoor A/V equipment and admission to the Gardens for all guests (weather and daylight permitting). A signed contract and 50% deposit are required to make your booking official and the balance payment is required one month prior to your wedding day, along with a credit card authorization form in case of damages.
The Pavilion will be available at 9:00am for decorating and we will set up the tables, chairs and tablecloths before your arrival. Closing time (lights on, music off, bar closed) is 10:00pm with guests offsite by 10:30pm and vendors offsite by 11:00pm. Same-day setup and cleanup is required unless alternate arrangements are made in writing with the Event Manager.
A $500 offseason discount is available for weddings held October through April. Discounted rental rates are also available for daytime-only bookings that fall between 9:00am-5:00pm (including setup and cleanup) or evening-only bookings that fall between 5:00-10:00pm (afternoon setup time may be available). Please speak with our Event Manager for more information.
The Couvelier Pavilion can accommodate up to 96 guests plus the head table (hard maximum of 108) and we welcome your choice of catering, bar service, and other vendors. There is plenty of outdoor space for your cocktail hour and dinner buffet (including space for a BBQ!), but if you are planning on setting up the buffet inside, 60-80 guests may be more comfortable. We are not licensed, so a Special Event Permit is required before any alcohol can be opened onsite. More info here: https://specialevents.bcldb.com/
We are happy to work with your wedding party and marriage commissioner to schedule two hours of complimentary rehearsal time on the ceremony site during the week leading up to your wedding.
