These camps feature an outdoor program that includes time in our very own HCP Kids Teaching Garden where we grow food, learn to support natural systems and enjoy the many wilderness areas surrounding us!
Full Day – Junior Master Gardener Camps run either 4 or 5 days (each week is dependent on the various holidays and garden closures). The program is 9-4 daily and includes active gardening in our own HCP Kids Teaching Garden where we grow food crops. This allows for many hands on learning experiences including planting, harvesting, weeding and other seasonal garden activities. This is always balanced according to the heat of the day, with the use of frequent hydration/shade breaks when needed during the mornings. Afternoons are spent on activities to increase our understanding of natural systems in natural spaces surrounding our base camp as well as crafts.
Half Day – Garden Arts Camps run either 4 or 5 days (depending on holidays). The program is 9-12 daily and our time is spent gathering and using natural materials to create garden art as well as a variety of other mediums for 4 or 5 days in July and August
