ONLINE: Random Woven Nest Basket

February 26, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Online via Zoom with Joan Carrigan

Random weave is one of Joan’s favourite styles of baskets. The structure is beautiful, reminding one of birds’ nests. It is strong, durable and lends itself to sculptural forms in both small and large scale. We will discuss several ways of approaching this technique. Discussion will cover how to harvest and forage for other plant materials suitable for this technique.

A materials kit will be provided consisting of dyed round reed for the construction of this basket which can either be picked up at HCP or mailed to you with an additional cost of $20 within Canada. If you live outside of Canada, shipping costs will vary. We will email you to arrange shipping if you select this option.

Please note that these workshops are popular and classes are kept small to ensure individual attention. If you are unable to secure a spot for this date, please add your name to the wait list as we will run a second date if a wait list develops. Note that refunds for cancellations are not possible once your kit has been mailed.

Fees: HCP Members $120/Non-Members $140
