Welcome To Horticulture Centre of the Pacific
In bloom since 1979, The Gardens at HCP (formerly Glendale Gardens & Woodland) includes over nine acres of gardens on a 103 acre site in Saanich, just outside Victoria, BC. These lovely gardens are set in a conservation park with nature trails, wetlands, and bird watching sites.
Victoria’s mild pacific winters allow for year round gardening making any time of year the perfect time to visit. Tour the Winter Garden, the Japanese style Takata Garden, the Zen Garden, the Rhododendron Garden, of the Heather Gardens. Each turn through these meandering gardens will surprise you with the bountiful gardens that flourish in the Pacific Northwest.
The Gardens at HCP is also home to the accredited Pacific Horticulture College and offers a one-year landscape horticulture program, as well as gardener workshops, community education and Master Gardener courses. More than beautiful gardens, The Gardens at HCP prioritize education for Red Seal professionals, Master Gardeners, hobby gardeners, and children. Bring your questions and your curiosity when you come to visit!
OUR VISION
The HCP is recognized in our community as a welcoming place that inspires a love of gardens and nature, shares horticultural knowledge and experiences with everyone, produces certified horticultural professionals, and demonstrates environmental stewardship for future generations.
Our Mission
To bring a diversity of people together to learn, enjoy, and participate in the rewards of horticulture and environmental stewardship. We do this by connecting people with plants, nature, and sustainable gardening practices, and by demonstrating responsible stewardship through our garden management practices and habitat restoration activities.
