Brian White P.Eng. is a senior environmental engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in consulting engineering.  Brian believes in making a meaningful impact to the teams and community that he lives and works in and has done so not only in the projects he has the great fortune to work on but also by giving back with his own time and energy.  Brian is the former President and current past chair of the British Columbia Environmental Industry Association, Director for Christ Church Cathedral Buildings Ltd., Former Policy and Government Affairs Committee member for the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Current Chair for the BCIT Environmental Engineering Technology Program Advisory Committee.  In those rolls and organizations, he has led as a conference chair, attend and lead community meetings, participated in working groups and committees, was president of the organization and filled out surveys all in a volunteer capacity.  In his professional career Brian has lead teams (upwards of 15 staff) to complete major infrastructure projects with a focus on the environmental aspects of the work.  This has included assessments, permitting, construction management, tendering and remediation.  Many of his projects have been saddled with historical contamination from previous industries that have either been in decline or long since left the property.  Brian's work has allowed for properties to be reused and repurposed for future community needs through development, risk management and the creation of green space.  These projects have ranged in capital expenditure from several thousands to nearly a $500 Million in size, included first nation communities, local, Provincial and Federal Governments, interest groups, and various levels of stake holders.  Brian current role involves working with McElhanney Ltd in the Victoria Branch to lead a team of more than 15 environmental professionals deliver project locally in Greater Victoria and across BC. In Brian's spare time he enjoys carpentry, reading, walking and hanging out with his partner Jennifer and their two school age children. Brian is a resident of Saanich and keenly interested in helping to further develop and maintain HCP presence in the community and enhanced the ability for members and the general public to visit and enjoy the property and facilities.
