Takata Ponds Refurbishment
On April 14-15,Tony Huibers, owner of Shibusa Ponds was on site to drain our upper and lower Takata ponds. 
The crew and vacuum truck spent hours, in the rain, pumping out the silt until they got down to the pond liner. 
Organic debris and excessive plant growth like Duckweed and Elodea build up over time and need to be removed.
We now have a fresh start to the season, thank you Tony!
A bit of history … Shibusa Pond Services created the rotunda pond at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific in 2009.
The formal design uses a large boulder drilled through the center to create a 'fountain stone' in a location where a waterfall is not suitable.
It is an impressive front entrance feature welcoming guests as they visit our exquisite gardens.
