This garden is designed to demonstrate the joy of gardening in small spaces
This garden space was developed because of our realization that building lots are becoming smaller, with less space for gardening. As well, many people are living in townhouses or apartments with only a small patio or balcony for outdoor space.
This garden features small species of rhododendrons and azaleas, along with a variety of companion plants that grow well in containers. Vegetables are also included in the design to demonstrate how they can be part of gardening in a limited space.
Seatings areas provide opportunities for resting, relaxing and enjoying the view of some of the other demonstration Gardens at HCP.
The project was sponsored by an anonymous donor and developed with the support of the Victoria Rhododendron society, the American Rhododendron Society, Feast & Stow Garden Co and Garside Signs & Display.
