Picnic in the Gardens

August 28, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Gardens at HCP is extending our hours every second Wednesday night starting June 5. We encourage families and friends to come and enjoy a lovely picnic on our grounds. Admission is by donation between 5 and 8 pm. Bring your own dinner and find a bench or lawn to enjoy your meal while enjoying the sounds of a local musician. Local arts vendors will be onsite and you can browse through their selection of goods or visit the Master Gardener booth with your garden related questions. Our plant sale area has a lovely selection of plants propagated by our volunteers from our garden and you might find a leafy friend to take home with you. The event will be posted on Facebook, please share amongst your friends. We encourage you to bring your sketch book, guitar, outdoor games – it will be a wonderful evening.

For the final Picnic in the Garden of 2019, we have musicians from the Songs & Stories group doing an outdoor version of Musical Chairs.  Featured will be Ray Spencer, Lisa Bosman, Daniel Cook, Terry Brennan, Genevieve Charbonneau, Jack Connolly and Robbie Hancock playing original songs in a ‘writers in the round’ style.  This show brings together a very talented group of singer/songwriters in the beautiful backdrop at the HCP gardens. To learn more about their show please go to www.songsandstories.info.

If you would like to explore your creative talents during picnic night, consider signing up for a Paint and Picnic class with local artist Rose Cowles. Classes run from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. No experience required, all levels welcome, but spaces are limited. Call us to register and hold your spot – 250 479 6162. This is a great activity to do as a group.
