If you have successfully completed ITA Levels 1 and 2 in Landscape Horticulture, PHC offers the opportunity to further your education with Level 3 and Level 4 Landscape Horticulturist Technical Training Programs. These programs will prepare you to write the ITA provincial Level 3 exam and the inter-provincial Red Seal Exam in Landscape Horticulture. Levels 3 and 4 are both offered full-time (6 weeks per level) over the winter in alternate years, as well as part-time during the year. Each program includes both classroom and practical components.
Tuition for each level is $1,200 (including program resource binder), plus the $20 application fee. You must provide your own personal protective equipment (boots, gloves, goggles, earplugs, and rain gear).

PART-TIME Level 3: May 29 to November 6, 2018
Program Details: Part time; 6 to 9 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays; occasional Saturdays.
Topics covered in the Level 3 program include Hardscaping, Plant Health, Soils, Irrigation & Drainage, Softscape Maintenance, Plant Identification, Interior Plantscapes, Organize Work, Preconstruction Activities, and Tools & Equipment.

FULL-TIME Level 4: November 19, 2018 to January 11, 2019
Program Details: Full time; 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday
(Note: 2 week holiday break from December 20, 2018 to January 1, 2019).
Topics covered in the Level 4 program include Softscape Maintenance, Plant Identification, Green Infrastructure, Cultural Management of Trees, Plant Health, Turfgrass Management, Erosion Control, Organize Work, Preconstruction Activities, and Sales & Marketing.

To receive a Red Seal in Landscape Horticulture you must:
- Be a registered apprentice with the Industry Training Authority
- Complete 4 Levels of technical training
- Complete 6,480 work based training hours
- Pass the Red Seal exam (minimum 70%)
