Pacific Horticulture College (PHC) will provide you with the best possible horticulture educational experience available. Unlike other educational institutes which offer courses in horticulture as only a part of their curriculum, PHC offers only horticulture education. Here you will not be a small group within a large institution, but instead you. Our board of directors keep one focus in mind: Creating an education venue which will allow us to be recognized as the pre-eminent horticulture college in Canada. We achieve this through the correct combination of skilled educators, significant support for our students, and a location which is second to none in Canada.

Since our instruction is done at HCP’s Gardens, our students have access to 30 demonstration gardens on 4.1 hectares (10 acres) with 10,000 plants varieties and 42 hectares (93 acres) of conservation park. Our horticulture library has over 3,000 publications, the most comprehensive on Vancouver Island. Our instructors are second to none and bring a variety of knowledge, instructional and practical skills. Even our calendar year (January to November) has been chosen to ensure that you are able to work with plants at every stage of their life-cycle. In this way plant propagation, pest management, and maintenance can be really taught, witnessed and understood.

Established in 1986, PHC is accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) of the British Columbia government. The College is recognized by the Industry Training Authority (ITA) of the British Columbia government as a designated training institute for the horticulture technician foundation program. The standards for the program are established in consultation with Hort Ed BC.  Upon completion of the certificate program, you have the opportunity to pursue further studies at other post-secondary institutions across Canada.
