Master Gardener Certificate Program
The Victoria Master Gardener Association offers an interesting, ambitious program for avid amateur gardeners over a 16-week period. It includes an intensive program of 31 three-hour sessions combining:
- classroom instruction;
- field trips;
- home study;
- assignments and in-class projects.
The course is taught at HCP by a Master Gardener supplemented by local experts. All potential students are encouraged to attend an information session to be held at the HCP by the Victoria Master Gardener Association (VMGA). Please call the HCP at 250-479-6162 or gardeninfo@hcp.ca to register and ensure your place in the next class.
Names are being taken for the 2013 class.
To become a Victoria Master Gardener, you must also complete 60 approved volunteer hours within the 18 months following the course.
Once you have successfully completed the classroom course and your 60-hour volunteer training, you will receive your Master Gardener Certificate from the Victoria Master Gardener Association. (This is not a professional qualification. )
To maintain Master Gardener status, you must complete a minimum of 15 volunteer hours and 5 self-education hours each year.
