Drop in and make your very own unique reindeer. All pieces will be cut and prepared ahead of time so all you need to do is get creative and have fun! The instructor Lonnie Paton will be there to guide participants through the process. At the end of the class you will have your own Rudolf, Blitzen or Dasher to take home with you. Master Gardener

Master Gardener Program February to May 2018 Thursdays 6pm to 9pm and Sundays 9am to 12 noon **Registration for 2018 starting July 2017 ** Call 250 479 6162 to add your name to the interest list for early registration. Lifelong learning is at the heart of the Victoria Master Gardener Association, the idea that no one can possibly know it all; that there is no shame in saying “I don’t know but I know who to ask”. Amazing gardeners here at the HCP say it all the time. The thing is you have to start somewhere and the Master Gardener Program is the place. You will learn current, reliable home gardening basics – the framework to pin everything else to. You will also learn how to look it up, who to ask and how to share that knowledge of sound, environmentally responsible gardening practices with the community. The course is taught at the HCP by a Pacific Horticulture College instructors and Master Gardeners and consists of 26 3-hour sessions that combine classroom instruction, home study, hands-on practicum, assignments and in-class projects. Guest lecturers add their knowledge, contributing immeasurably to the experience.  The cost including all handouts and texts is $745.00. Upcoming Youth Workshop Programs for Summer 2017   SUMMER CAMPS JUNIOR MASTER GARDENER CAMPS – SUMMER (6-11 years) We have been gardening with children for over a decade in this hands-on and outdoors garden camp. Every day campers are busy planning, creating, maintaining and harvesting from our very own JMG Garden Plot, with the help of Victoria Master Gardeners. Eating fresh from the garden and creating easy snacks provides healthy skills that last a lifetime. As we learn about growing plants and food, we also cultivate an understanding of native pollinators and the ecosystems that support our gardens!
